The EQ-Force process is the only earthquake process which
reduces the seismic force on a footing and decreases damage to the structure.

The economics of the process

If just earthquake protection and the enhancement of the safety of the structure is your goal, then the use of mini-piles, H-piles, concrete piles, stone columns, or compaction piles should be your choice.

The reduction in damage to a structure where any other remedial method is used will be enhanced by the EQ-Force array. The extra protection afforded by conventional methods including the use of carbon fiber / epoxy laminate wrap is a pure and simple addition to the earthquake resistance of the structure. And such a remedial may well be needed for some structures.

The EQ-Force array will require no more mini-piles than there are injection points for a conventionally created compaction grout vertical injection system. The amount of grout will, in fact, be calculable in the case of the piles and extremely large and un-calculable for conventional compaction grouting.

When you design new or retrofit systems under the IBC, the added safety factor generated will show up immediately. It may reduce the risk enough to allow you to re-priority projects which have greater risk. There is an increasing awareness on the part of structural designers that an integrated design of the soil, the footing, and the structure will build a safer and less cost structure. This process can feature in such considerations.
